Sandals

Without these lightweight boots, we can't imagine summer styles. They provide comfort during hot weather and add charm, revealing almost the entire foot, which lengthens and slenderises the legs. Sandals are the oldest shoes invented by man and - most willingly worn.

The heel and thongs, the iconic "floss sandals"

Each of us has a pair of sandals in the wardrobe. They are irreplaceable in the summer, and the choice of cuts is so great that we can easily find models to match any style - both comfortable, everyday running and chic, where you can shine on a bigger occasion. Floss sandals, or minimalist heeled sandals, have been at the forefront for years. They consist of a sole, a pin or a post, and a few stripes or thongs, covering the foot and toes, often wrapped around the ankle or calf. They were promoted in the late 1990s by Carrie Bradshaw, the heroine of "Sex in the big city", and have since become extremely popular. Women love these shoes, because they are great in a variety of styles. They can be worn with regular jeans and elegant trousers, with colourful, flouncy skirts and evening dresses. This is a universal model, of course, only for those women who love to run in heels.

Comfortable every day, i.e. Romance, espadrilles and a few new ideas

The most comfortable sandals in everyday life are, of course, their sport versions, consisting of a solid sole and wide stripes. They are irreplaceable during holiday trips or intensive running around town. Equally popular are Romance sandals - sandals consisting of a leather sole and straps wrapped around the foot. These are the kind of shoes that were worn by women from Ancient Greece and Rome, and before them women from Ancient Egypt. At that time they were made mainly of papyrus, although rich patricians could afford models made of decorated leather, covered with gold or painted in patterns. Today, apart from leather, they are made of many other natural materials - jute, string, canvas, cork. But not only that.

For several seasons now, flat glamour style sandals with a very unusual cut have been a strong trend. They are various - inspired by both rococo fashion from centuries ago and the aesthetics of African tribes, decorated with feathers, colourful wooden beads or covered with lace and glitter, shiny from crystals, artificial pearls and coloured slides.

Espadrilles

Another strong trend is sandals, inspired by classic espadrilles, i.e. light canvas slippers on a sole woven from straw. They were invented by Catalans in the 14th century and have been one of the favourite summer shoes ever since. Sandals inspired by these shoes borrowed from the original comfortable sole, woven from string, jute or special kind of straw. They are great in casual summer styles, worn to shorts, airy dresses, linen skirts, lace or embroidered blouses.

Elegant sandals

We can choose this variety of sandals for all official occasions. They look a bit like the already cultic mules-type sandals, with a tight front. Sandals inspired by them have a similar cut plus a strip added on the heel. They are in subdued, pastel colours, usually on a pin or a post. Elegant and stylish, they are a perfect complement to formal stylizations, accompanied by wallet skirts, pressed-in trousers, chic suits or formal dresses. They will successfully replace the classic shuttles, which we would prefer to wear only as a last resort in the summer.
