Can our feet be a different size in the morning?
The shoes we put on in the morning may be slightly larger, because our feet are rested then and may literally be a size smaller. In the evening or late afternoon, after a whole day of walking, our feet expand a little, because they swell slightly, they may be tired, which is related to the natural force of gravity. Then shoes that are too small will simply squeeze us tightly. Therefore, platform shoes or all tightly closed shoes should have a combination of the size we have in the morning and the size we have in the evening. It is quite good if the shoes are half a size larger and we can put in them by the heels or anti-slip inserts, rather than too small and hurting our feet.
For this reason, the best time to try on new shoes is late afternoon – that is when our feet are closest to their daily “maximum size”. This is especially important when choosing high-heeled shoes, such as platform stilettos, closed-heel pumps or women’s boots with a narrow shaft. These models do not forgive mistakes – a too tight style can cause not only chafing, but also more serious foot problems.
At kokietki, we are aware that even half a size can make a huge difference. That is why we suggest choosing a larger size for many models, especially if the shoes have a rigid structure, as in the case of patent stilettos or sandals with a high heel. This allows you to adjust the inside of the shoe with additional accessories if necessary - e.g. gel inserts, leather heel counters or anti-slip cushions, which are available at kokietki as helpful additions.
Thanks to this, you can gain not only comfort, but also greater self-confidence - comfortable women's footwear is not a luxury, it is a necessity. After all, no one wants beautiful high heels to become the enemy of every styling. Remember: it is better to buy shoes that are slightly larger and fit well than to risk foot pain in too tight ones.
Paying attention to the natural changes in your body throughout the day isn’t a whim – it’s practical knowledge that makes shoes an ally, not a hindrance. After all, each of us deserves to feel good from morning to night – regardless of the height of the heel.
